Two years of great design.
Challenge: The San Diego Film Festival wanted to step up their image in celebration of their fifth year anniversary. They needed a look that reflected their growing success. Since the festival is a celebration of films, events and parties, the visuals can be fluid and diverse from year to year, but must maintain some of the basic elements of the brand image.
Solution: Skybox Creative was selected to create their new brand image. In 2006 Skybox created a dynamic brand image that would rival any successful film festival in the country. Subtle film sprockets were incorporated into the i’s, while the platinum Grey brought in an element of glam. Fun bubbly colors were chosen for the 2006 “escape” concept, with a color representing each theme of the 5-day festival. Skybox Creative produced a new identity system, ad campaign, print materials, banners on fifth avenue, tickets and neck badges, as well as logo placement on the red carpet. In 2007, with the addition of the Music Video Category, along with increased celebrity foot traffic, it was time for SDFF to reveal it’s trendier side. The bright Pink tones combined with the Black and Grey created the perfect look and feel.
Results: The 2006 and 2007 San Diego Film Festival were both a huge success. Their new image was flaunted in such publications as 944 Magazine and such venues as Pacific Theaters, The House of Blues, The W Hotel and many more hot spots in the famous Gaslamp Quarter.
Testimonial: 11/06 "The 2006 campaign was by far our best yet! It really captured the look and feel of this years’ theme. Skybox was able to make our vision a reality. We received rave reviews from sponsors, filmmakers and festival attendees about our new identity. Angelina was a delight to work with, and we look forward to a long term partnership."
